Question:
The yellow ABS light recently came on for my brakes. I haven't noticed any difference in my brakes, but I'm a bit concerned. What does the light mean? Are my brakes going to fail?

Answer:
This is a good question -- and it's one we get a lot. When that pesky yellow ABS light comes on, it means that the computer in your vehicle is sensing a problem with your ABS (anti-lock brake system). The ABS system is designed to make your brakes work properly in a panic situation by keeping your wheels from locking and skidding. While your regular brakes will work fine, the yellow light indicates that your ABS will probably not function properly. Since the ABS is a crucial safety feature found on many cars nowadays, I highly recommend you have the system checked by a certified mechanic as soon as possible.
